Karen Korjus’ innovative Puzzle Fashion Collection is a modular system of style: using multiple individually laser-cut puzzle pieces, the Fashion & Textiles graduate from the Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen (Scotland) has developed a myriad of diverse designs by manipulating textiles to look like contemporary origami. Up to 400 individual pieces went into the construction of some items of clothing – offering infinite opportunities for customisation. With this collection, Karen Korjus wanted not only to offer an opportunity for creative self-realisation and to develop “upgradeable” clothing for children: she also wanted to create a means of avoiding waste. The 27-year-old Estonian, a former student of IT Technology and Economy, uses her high degree of affinity with new technologies to infuse the pieces in the collection with personality. And sustainability.
